The Lives of Harry Lime

The Lives of Harry Lime starring Orson Welles is an amusing catch-a-thief series that features Harry Lime, a character who reappears after his presumed death at the end of the classic novel, The Third Man, and movie of the same name. He’s a cad, a thief, a gambler and scam artist who – after a string of missteps and counter-scams – rarely leaves with the riches at the end of each adventure.

There’s just one thing missing from The Lives of Harry Lime: more episodes. Harry was heard by radio audiences for just one year, from 1951 through 1952. Even so, it’s one of the most enduring, endearing and entertaining programs from that era, and listeners today still delight in Harry’s escapades and Welles’ incomparable performance.
